Last updated: July 13, 2026 Ask i2i is a tool based on a large language model, and we want to provide some transparancy on where your data will be stored, as well as how it might be used. THE SCHOOL DATA The literacy data behind the tool is public, and it's aggregate — school, district, county, state. There are no student records in it and nothing about any individual child, and the chatbot can't reach anything else. WHAT WE KEEP Two things, really. The email address of the Google account you sign in with, and your conversations — what you asked, what came back, and the data behind it. That's what lets your history still be there when you return. We also keep the ordinary technical records that come with running a website. HOW WE USE IT To run the tool, keep it working and secure, see how it's being used, and make it better. Because your chat history is retained: please DO NOT type confidential or personal information into a question. THE AI MODEL To answer you, we hand your question — along with the rest of that conversation and the data we pulled for it — to Google's Vertex AI, which writes the reply. So, plainly: what you type goes to Google. We may switch AI providers at some point, and we would update this policy accordingly. FILES YOU ATTACH You can attach a PDF to a question. We don't keep the file, but we do pass it to the AI model so it can read it, and the answer it gives becomes part of the conversation we keep. Please don't upload anything sensitive, or anything that isn't already public. SHARING A CONVERSATION You can create a share link for a conversation. Anyone who has that link can read it without signing in — so only send one to someone you'd happily show the whole thread to. You can take a link down later, but assume that anyone who already opened it has seen what was there. WHO ELSE SEES IT We use service providers to host and run the tool, and to help us understand how it's being used; they handle information on our behalf. We may also share information if the law requires it, or if we need to protect the tool, i2i, or someone's safety. COOKIES AND ANALYTICS Signing in sets a cookie so you stay signed in. We may also use ordinary web analytics, which set their own cookies and record things like which pages get visited and a rough location based on an IP address. DELETING THINGS You can delete any conversation, or all of them, from inside the tool. There's no self-serve way to delete your whole account — email us if you would like to request that. Worth knowing: deleting something in the tool won't necessarily scrub it from every copy or record we hold. WHAT WE DON'T DO We don't sell your information. We don't use it for advertising. We don't use your conversations to train AI models. And we don't track your usage of other websites. CHANGES We will keep this page updated if and when our policies or stances change.
